I was chatting with a new LinkedIn connection today about SEO. We were having a nice back and forth then all hell broke loose.

Him: I can tell that being 36 years old…I have the business savvy with the technical know-how…I've ran this virtual business for 12 years plus now…I've been making a living online…so…I think there's much to learn. What do you bring? How can we help each other? I don't know that yet…so…setup the time please…thank you sir…

Me: I've been marketing since 2002 after spending over 20 years in the tech world.

Him: I know Ted…but your, what 50+ when you where a kid you played with swords and guns made of wood…while I made my first website when I was 11…so…online is kinda a new thing to you…

I don't trust people in their 50's who say they are SEO experts…let's be honest it's unusual.

Me: I was doing SEO when you could keyword spam with meta tags. I don’t need to prove myself to anyone.

Him: F#ck off Ted…

Your a washed up loser pretending…I can see your old ass trying to sell SEO to 35 year old millennial business owners like I see me selling rice to China man…your full of sh%t.

Get lost, you and your $10 suit and your cheap smile…a^^hole.

You don't know what your bring so you pretend to offer value…SEO on LinkedIn you dumbass..that's not a thing.

LinkedIn is not a search engine…first off…

So…that statement is complete bullshit…

Me: If you don’t think LinkedIn is a search engine you are missing the boat

Him:  LinkedIn is a social network. Amazon is an actual search engine. Completely different

approach. You have no idea what you are talking about. I was brought to this world to

put people like you in your place. Don't pretend to know what you are talking about.

You're a scorpion on a frog's back…did you hear about that story? The scorpion and

the frog make a deal because the scorpion has no way across the river. So…the frog

says “you aren't going to sting me scorpion if I give you a ride on my back to the other

side of the river, are you?” the scorpion says, “no” so the frog gets on the scorpions

back…the frog takes the scorpion half way cross the river and all of a sudden he feels

a sting in his spine…the frog says “why did you do that, now we are both going to die”

and the scorpion said “I'm a scorpion that's what I do”

Guess who you are? You are looking at trends, and pretending you know what you are

talking about. You grew up with a wooden swords, while my sword was mad of

silicon…you are clueless and pathetic.

Needless to say Shaun was the second person ever that I removed as a LinkedIn connection. It's clear he believes once you reach 50 you are incapable of learning anything new.
