Case Study: Warming Up a Cold Email List

I usually don't share replays of my Freedom Accelerator Academy calls outside of the members area but this is one you need to see.

Courtney Berg is an HR consultant looking to expand her business.

She didn't email her list for two years and moved the list from Infusionsoft to SharpSpring.

Her first email to her list from Sharpspring had a 34% open rate and a 5.5% click through link on a message that was a blatant sales pitch.

Amazing stats considering it was a cold list AND she switched email providers.

Usually moving your list to a new email provider sends your emails right into the spam folder.

Gmail, Office365 or whichever email provider you use is used to seeing your messages from a familiar server. When they see your message coming from a new server, they assume it's spam.

We decided to go for a quick sale based on Dean Jackson's data on email lists.

After researching thousands of email campaigns, he knows:

  • 14% are ready to buy in the next 7 days
  • 36% will buy from you in the next year
  • 50% of your email list will never buy from you

Courtney shares the process we went through to create her new campaign and her plan to promote her HR dashboard product and her HR consulting.
