Some of you have been asking why I rarely share LinkedIn tips in my emails.
When I wrote the first edition of Ultimate Guide to LinkedIn for Business almost a decade ago, every email I sent was related to LinkedIn.
To be honest, focusing on LinkedIn "how to’s" got pretty boring.
For you and me.
It was kinda like teaching you how a combustion engine works.
Boring, technical details you don’t need to know.
What you need to know about LinkedIn has little to do with LinkedIn.
Sure you can get business from LinkedIn by blasting sales pitches at people.
That’s how you get an occasional sale.
But that’s not how you build a long-term business.
I teach you how to build relationships through friendly conversations which lead to long-term clients and referrals.
Yesterday, I had a great conversation with referral selling expert Joanne Black, founder of No More Cold Calling.
I’ve known Joanne for close to 20 years and she’s been teaching referral selling forever because it still works.
I’m doing a LinkedIn Live interview with Joanne in a few weeks so keep an eye out for the link.
She’s going to share her simple referral selling strategy.
In the meantime…
I’m going to start sending one or two emails a month to share new LinkedIn features for those of you who like to stay ahead of the curve.
I’ll share how I’m using the new features and let you know if it’s worth your time to use them.
As you know, LinkedIn is a moving target and you don’t want to waste your time doing something that doesn’t generate business.
