Legendary copywriter and direct marketer, Claude Hopkins, said, "The right offer should be so attractive that only a lunatic would say no."
Offers are not only for marketers.
We use offers every day.
You are presenting an offer to your boss when you negotiate a promotion and a raise.
You use offers to get your kids to do their chores in exchange for their allowance.
Buying a car?
You present counteroffers to the dealer's offer.
We use offers every day to find and communicate with different audiences.
Like it or not, we are all in marketing and sales.
The better you are at crafting offers, the more successful you will be in business and life.
In the book Overdeliver, Brian Kurtz takes offers to a higher level.
He shows us how to create a strategy for offers, and how to think about creating them to make them as effective as possible.
"Your offer needs to appeal so deeply to your audience that it's irresistible to them" Kurtz says in Chapter 5 of Overdeliver.
Imagine being able to ask your kids to do their chores and they do it immediately.
Even better, what would entice them to do their chores without you having to ask?
How can you create an irresistible offer that convinces your children to do their chores without being reminded?
Just as in business, it's important to set clear expectations.
Explain to your children what chores they are responsible for, when they need to be completed, and what the consequences (positive and negative) might be for completing or not completing their chores.
How do you create a clear offer to sell coaching services?
Again, it starts with clear benefits and outcomes.
Clearly communicate the benefits and outcomes that clients can expect from your coaching programs.
Describe how your programs can help them overcome challenges, achieve their goals, and improve their lives or businesses.
I could go deeper but I'd rather have Brian Kurtz tell you about clear offers and building a business in the long game.
Brian is our special guest in the Mastermind Book Club on Thursday, October 26th at 11 AM Pacific/2 PM Eastern (note the special time.)
There's no charge for the book club and we'd love to have you join the discussion of the book Overdeliver.
See you in the book club.
