You may have noticed I've had a bad case of writer's block.
I haven't written anything for almost a month.
The creative juices just aren't flowing lately.
Maybe it's because we've had almost 60" of rain since the beginning of December.
Atmospheric river #12 is arriving tonight with another 6" of rain on the way.
Most years I would be giddy that Lake Tahoe has received almost 60' feet of snow this winter.
There is so much snow, the roads have been closed and the ski areas haven't been able to open because there is too much snow and wind.
The good news is we may be skiing on the Fourth of July this year.
Last week I was on the Big Island in Hawaii.
This was my first trip to the Big Island, and it was amazing.
Standing on the edge of the simmering Kilauea Mountain (the locals call it a mountain not a volcano), was incredible.
Unfortunately, gale-force winds made it difficult to hang out by the pool or on the beach most days.
Our flight home was almost 90 minutes early because we rode the Pineapple Express winds.
Despite the winds, we made the best of our trip.
Lots of Okole Maluna (bottoms up for you mainlanders).
I thought spending a week in paradise would snap me out of my writing funk, but I didn't open my laptop once.
I'm okay with taking a break.
I feel a change coming but I don't know what it is.
For now, I'll enjoy the break and see where it leads me.
Okole Maluna!
