This made my brain hurt, blog article written by Ted Prodromou

I ran into an old friend on a webinar last week.

Tommy and I met about 10 years ago in a mastermind.

We were pretty close while we were in the mastermind.

For years, we watched each other on social media, but haven't spoken in a few years.

We jumped on a call after the webinar and talked for three hours.

Imagine two men on one Zoom call for three hours...

He asked me about my business and what my plans were.

I told him I was thinking of retiring.

Tommy is two years younger than me and told me I can't retire.

He's planning to live to 137 and wants to keep working in some form as long as he can.

I don't plan to live to 137.

I see a lot of people in their 80s and 90s living a very active life.

They stay physically and mentally active which is their secret.

When I retire from my business, I want to keep "working" in some form.

When I did some ad testing a few months ago, people over 60 didn't want to keep working full-time.

Money wasn't their motivation.

Staying mentally sharp, maintaining their skills, and being engaged was their goal.

I stay very active physically and my business keeps me mentally active.

If I retire, how will stay mentally engaged?

As we were finishing our marathon Zoom call, Tommy gave me some homework.

"What do you want to do for the next 20 years?"

His question blew my mind.

There's a good chance I'll be alive for at least 20 more years.

I was thinking from the perspective of retiring next year.

I wasn't thinking about what I'm going to do for the next 20 years.

My mind has been spinning with ideas now that I'm thinking from a different perspective.

Leave a COMMENT and tell me what you are doing for the next 20 years.
