Sneaky Trick Gets Clients on LinkedIn. 

Years ago, one of my clients told me the bar is very low on LinkedIn. 

He meant the opportunity on LinkedIn was unlimited because most members didn't have a clue how to use it. 

Most people had incomplete profiles. 

Would you apply for a job with an incomplete resume? 

From my corporate days, I saw plenty of incomplete resumes with typos and incoherent sentences so bad, LinkedIn profiles never surprised me. 

Most people are occasional LinkedIn users. 

The majority log in once a month or less. 

One time I was speaking at a networking event, and one person complained he's been on LinkedIn for 10 years and never landed a client. 

I asked him how often he logs into LinkedIn. 

"Once or twice a month" he shouted. 

Based on the behavior I see on LinkedIn today, the bar has sunk to new lows. 

The opportunity on LinkedIn is greater than ever if... 

...you use LinkedIn to build relationships. 

Stop selling and start networking. 

People tell me they don't have time to build relationships. 

They have to meet their quota, so they're focused on closing deals that often turn into "one and done" nightmares. 

When someone is promoting the latest sneaky trick to get clients on LinkedIn, I feel bad for people who are chasing the latest gimmick that will fail 99% of the time. 

If you are serious about using LinkedIn to generate business, stop investing in gimmicks and start building relationships.
