We've all heard of the 80/20 or Pareto Principle. In case you don't know the history of the Pareto Principle here's a brief overview.
In 1906, Italian economist Vilfredo Pareto created a mathematical formula to describe the unequal distribution of wealth in his country, observing that twenty percent of the people owned eighty percent of the wealth. In the late 1940s, Dr. Joseph M. Juran inaccurately attributed the 80/20 Rule to Pareto, calling it Pareto's Principle. While it may be misnamed, Pareto's Principle or Pareto's Law as it is sometimes called, can be a very effective tool to help you manage your time effectively.
My good friend Perry Marshall, recently released a best selling book, 80/20 Sales and Marketing which has sold out two printings in just three months! Perry shows how to save 80% of your time and money by focusing on the right 20% of your market. Then you apply the 80/20 principle over and over again resulting in 10X and 100X your results. You can get your copy for just a penny plus shipping so check it out!
I've decided to apply the Pareto Principle to LinkedIn. Everyone tells me they don't have time to spend on LinkedIn at the same time they're telling me they need more customers.
What if you could focus your time on the right 20% so you could spend just a few minutes a day on LinkedIn and get more results?
It's easy to get lost on sites like LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter. You can waste a lot of time (your 80%) if you're not careful. I'm completely guilty of surfing aimlessly at times and wondering what happened to my workday.
Since I started applying the 80/20 principle to my time on LinkedIn, I'm spending around 30 minutes a day and getting better results than ever.
I'm doing a new webinar, LinkedIn 80/20: Getting More Results With Less Effort where I'll show you how to use LinkedIn more effectively. I'll show you how I use LinkedIn to build my professional network, how to find new customers, and most importantly, how not to waste time.
Join me on Thursday October 31st (Happy Halloween!) at 1 PM Eastern, 10 AM Pacific time.
