Black Friday is over and today is Cyber Monday. Despite dismal projections, sales on Black Friday were 3% higher than last year and weekend spending was up overall as shoppers snapped up deeply discounted merchandise. For those that haven't been keeping up, Black Friday is the day after Thanksgiving where up to 10% of all holiday sales occur. People line up overnight to grab bargains when stores open as early as 4 AM. As online shopping increased in popularity, the media declared today, the first Monday after Thanksgiving as Cyber Monday, the biggest online shopping day of the year.
The great thing about Cyber Monday is that you don't have to stand in line all night and fight the crowds. You just have to get online at your leisure and do your shopping from the comfort of your home or office. Sure beats camping out all night in the cold!
